Shockwave Physiotherapy

Do You Suffer With Joint, Tendon or Heel Pain? At Plaza Health we provide Shockwave Therapy, this is an effective non-invasive treatment of a wide range of joint conditions such as Knee Pain, Tennis Elbow, Chronic Neck and Lower Back Pain. It can also provide relief from Heel Spurs (Plantar Fasciitis), Shin Pain and Tendon related issues. Shockwave therapy uses powerful sounds waves to increase blood flow, and break down fibrous scar tissue that accumulates within and around tendons and muscles that have been injured for a long time.

Michael Sheriden has been successfully treating patients with Shockwave at Plaza Health, this therapy is an effective alternative to more invasive treatments such as injections and even surgery.

Within just a few weeks, it can dramatically turn around chronic injuries such as tendonitis in the ankle, knee, hip, and shoulder. Shockwave can also help with symptoms for certain back problems such as facet joint arthropathy.

Don’t suffer alone, as we are here to help you, call today and book an appointment.

How We Treat You?

Shock Wave Therapy is carried out normally over 3 – 6 sessions to get the best outcome. Treatment is by the application of pressure pulses applied by a therapy handset. The healing power of the shock waves can be increased or decreased to a level that is acceptable to treat you. But like most treatments you might possibly feel some discomfort immediately following the treatment, but this is usually mild and will normally resolve within 24 hours.

I was suffering from chronic lower back pain for months. I attended Michael at physiologic in smithfield and found him very helpful and friendly. I got an MRI within one week and he explained my condition in plain english. Michael showed me how to manage my back pain at home and it is now a distant memory. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
I was treated by Niamh at physiologic in Lucan after my ACL reconstruction. I found Niamh very helpful and knowledgeable. I was also surprised to see the full Gym setup in the clinic so I could do my rehab in the clinic , it really helped speed up my recovery.
I attended Michael from physiologic at his Maynooth clinic for ongoing tension headaches. pain killers just didn’t work anymore. Michael treated me with some Dry-Needling and after 3 treatments my headaches were gone. He also showed me some exercises to do to prevent them coming back. Fantastic service, great staff.
